Allow Bibi Ka Alam procession under IX Nizam of Hyderabad: Shia Council

The Shia Civil Council of Justice has requested that the Bibi Ka Alam procession in the upcoming month of Muharram be held under the leadership of IX Nizam of Hyderabad, Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan. They have sent a letter to the CEO of the Telangana Wakf Board seeking permission for this. The letter states that Raunaq Yar Khan is recognized by the family members of Nizams I to VI as the ninth Nizam. The certified Royal Family members of these Nizams are listed under the VII Nizam’s trust, known as ‘Sahebzadegan of Sarf-e-Khas Trust.’ Out of over 4,000 members listed, many support Raunaq Yar Khan’s recognition. The Bibi Ka Alam procession occurs during Muharram, which in 2025 will begin in June, with the exact date depending on the moon sighting. The procession is specifically scheduled for the 10th of Muharram, which will fall in July.
