His Holiness Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaja, a Canadian-born renowned ISKCON Leader, expressed hope for improved relations between India and Canada. “Tension between India and Canada is only due to some misunderstandings. And I hope to see that they get sorted out very soon,” he said. ISKCON, a spiritual organization, is known for promoting universal values and unity.

HH Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaja, a spiritual leader of the Hare Krishna Movement, visited Hyderabad on Friday. During his visit, he interacted with the media and shared his thoughts on various topics, including Sanathan Dharma, education, and the recent tensions between India and Canada.

Speaking about Sanathan Dharma, HH Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaja said, “Sanathan Dharma is a universal code of conduct. The word doesn’t have any religious connotation. I am a Roman Catholic Christian. My body is Canadian, but my soul is Indian. We need sanatan dharma. We can’t live without it.”

On the topic of education, he emphasized its importance and called for its promotion with all vigour. “Education is very important. It must be promoted with all vigour. Education is life and life is education,” he said. HH Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaja has spent a significant part of his life in India and has visited the country numerous times.

Regarding the strained relationship between India and Canada, HH Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaja said, “Misunderstandings are common even in a blood relation and in a family. The recent set of events that unfolded between India and Canada is no way different. I hope that relations would be normal very soon. Both countries need each other.”

When asked about the allegations made by Maneka Gandhi regarding ISKCON selling cows to butchers, HH Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaja strongly refuted them. “There is no truth in it. Instead, the primary aim of ISKCON is to protect cows. Her remarks are far from the truth,” he said.

Dr Aperna Volluru, Founder and MD of My School ITALY, who invited the ISKCON Spiritual Leader, said, “Sanathan Dharma is a constitution of human beings. I am a disciple of Raghava Swami. I am impressed by his preachings and peace messages. Today the whole world is disturbed. I have invited the Maharaja with the hope of getting some peace message.”

The brand ambassador of the School, The 9th Nizam of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty, H.E. Raunaq Yar Khan, also spoke on the occasion. He mentioned his efforts in bringing people of different faiths together for the common good.
