Nelofar Currimbhoy, hailing from the top nobility of Hyderabad, ventures into the world of theatre with her maiden musical drama. The 9th Nizam of Hyderabad, His Excellency Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan, was invited to witness her debut performance.
“Ananda – Eyes of The Healer,” produced by Nelofar Currimbhoy, was performed in Delhi on Thursday and Friday. Nelofar, daughter of the “Herbal Queen” Shehnaz Hussain, has penned a narrative that seamlessly blends emotions, music, and spirituality.
Directed by Muzaffar Ali, choreographed by Shivani Varma, and narrated by Kabir Bedi, the show lends richness to the art of storytelling.
His Excellency Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan’s participation in the event was more than mere attendance. Nelofar also hails from the top nobility of Hyderabad, with her great grandfather, Sir Afsar Ul Mulk, serving as the Commander & Chief of the Hyderabad State Forces of the Asaf Jahi Nizams. Hyderabad is also the birthplace of her mother, beauty queen Shehnaz Hussain.
The play, “Ananda-the Eyes of the Healer,” was exceptionally creative, with the Prime Minister’s office requesting seats in a sold-out auditorium.
Nelofar expressed her honor in having His Excellency Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan, accepted as the 9th Nizam by the overwhelming majority of their Hyderabad 1 to 7 ruling Asaf Jahi Nizam’s descendants & legal claimants, to head their royal family.
His Excellency Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan, excited to promote Nelofar’s work in Hyderabad, said, “I’m excited to promote Nelofar’s work in Hyderabad as a favour to all art-loving Hyderabadis.”
His Excellency Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan is also reckoning in Delhi and has another engagement on the 28th of this month at the Meridian Hotel. He and noted singer Padmashree Penza Masani will unveil a nationwide intellectual forum curated by Madhavi Advani. Additionally, His Excellency will participate in and grace celebrations of the Turkish Republic Day by the Government of Turkiye at Taj Falaknuma.
