Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan, the designated 9th head of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty of Nizams, paid tributes on Sunday morning to Mir Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam of the Princely State of Hyderabad. The ceremony took place at the Nizam’s mausoleum, Masjid-e-Judi, located near Nazri Bagh Palace in Hyderabad.
Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan was accompanied by Nawab Ameer Ali Jah, the grandson of the 7th Nizam. Ameer Ali Jah, who holds the title of ‘Jah’ bestowed upon him by the Nizam, led a majority of the 7th Nizam’s family in selecting Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan for this honor.
The occasion also marked the 57th death anniversary of Mir Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam of Hyderabad. Speaking to the media, Nawab Ameer Ali Jah expressed his honor in paying respects to his grandfather, the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad State. He acknowledged the late Nizam’s significant contributions to the development of the state.
Nawab Ameer Ali Jah said, “We have gathered to pay tribute and respect to our dynamic and progressive world-renowned secular grandfather who did a lot making the whole state of Hyderabad into a developed city, way beyond others in India.”
Nawab Ameer Ali Jah praised Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan for his efforts in keeping the memory and essence of the Asaf Jahi family alive through his interfaith activities. He expressed hope that Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan would receive blessings from their departed ancestors.
Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan, a prominent philanthropist and city representative, was chosen as the 9th Nizam of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty by the descendants of the earlier Nizams. His visit to the graveyard of Mir Osman Ali Khan marked his first visit after his selection as the 9th Nizam.
Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan, aged 60, is a well-known citizen of Hyderabad. He is the proud owner of a large film facility located on a 115-acre plot in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The facility is renowned for its amazing buildings and a man-made hill known as H.I.G.H (Highest In Greater Hyderabad Hill).
Members of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty and associates paid floral tributes and offered prayers at Mir Osman Ali Khan’s mausoleum at Masjid Jodi in King Kothi.
