Nawab H. H. Raunaq Yar Khan, democratically recognized as the 9th Nizam of the Asaf Jahi lineage, emphasized interfaith harmony and social cohesion at the second session of the Jaibharat Muslim Revolutionary Forum – Itehad, held over three days at Jaibharat Headquarters, Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Bhavan, L. B. Nagar.
The session – part of Jaibharat’s independent patriotic initiative promoting national unity, secular values, and social justice – brought together Muslim participants committed to peace, tolerance, and communal responsibility. Convened by Mr. Ramana Murty, the forum fosters progressive discourse, community reform, and interfaith understanding within India’s broader unity framework.
Keynote speaker Janab Abdul Qayoom Naik of Kashmir, poet, social reformer, and National Vice President of JAIHO, highlighted the need for cross-community dialogue, reducing polarization, and strengthening bonds across cultures and regions.
Nawab Raunaq Yar Khan, continuing the Asaf Jahi legacy of inclusive governance, has actively promoted inter-community relations for nearly five decades. He has hosted annual Holi and Sankranti celebrations at his Jubilee Hills estate, welcoming participants of all faiths, and served as chief guest at numerous religious and cultural events – including Durga Puja, Sufi commemorations, Christian unity gatherings, and Gurudwara ceremonies. His efforts earned him an honorary doctorate for community bridge-building and interfaith work alongside Delhi Police.
Addressing the forum, he said –
“Harmony must be practiced, not preached. India’s beauty is that we do not just coexist – we live together. That spirit is our responsibility to protect.”
He reiterated that the Asaf Jahi legacy of service and compassion belongs to Hyderabad and India, not just a family, and must be preserved through action, humility, and respect.
