Municipal Administration Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan made the appeal during a meeting with Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) representatives at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) headquarters on Monday. GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan was also present.

Ranjan said firms should come forward with proposals to enhance the capital’s profile. He added that the government would provide quick approvals and extend full support to such initiatives.

He urged companies to utilise Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to restore historic structures, noting that such efforts would also enhance the reputation of participating firms.

Restoration work underway in key heritage sites

The Municipal Administration Department has assigned the responsibility of implementing proposals from private firms to the Quli Qutb Shahi Urban Development Authority (QQSUDA) and GHMC, in coordination with consultancy agencies.

Restoration work is already under way at heritage sites in the Old City, including Sardar Mahal and Mir Alam Mandi.
